A journalist named Akhlakur Rahman Akash (36) was injured in an attack by miscreants while collecting news in Savar.Later he was rescued and admitted to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital. When the condition worsened, he was sent to Eye Hospital in Dhaka for better treatment.The attack took place at Bengal Ceramics Factory in Bhagalpur Ceramics Bazar in Savar Municipal area on Sunday around 10:30 am.The injured Akhlakur Rahman lives in a rented house in Talbag Mohalla of Akash Savar Municipal area. He has been working for a long time as a correspondent of Daily Star newspaper and Savar correspondent of Citizen Television.

The victim Akash said that in the morning I suddenly got news that some people are forcibly occupying the 'Bengal Ceramics Factory' in Savar's ceramics market. At that time I went to the spot. Later I saw miscreants breaking the computers and CCTV cameras of the ceramics factory. Seeing such a scene, I took a picture of vandalism on my mobile phone. Suddenly some people came and started beating me. Later miscreants took away my mobile phone and wallet. After that, he was rescued and brought to Savar Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Later he was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital for better treatment, he said.

Savar Upazila Health Complex's family planning officer Dr. Sayemul Huda said that the injured journalist's nose and eyes were injured. He said that he has been referred for better treatment.

In this regard, Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Zaman said, the police visited the spot after receiving the information. He also said that action will be taken against the culprits after investigation.

In connection with this attack, the media workers of Savar and Ashulia demanded that the culprits be quickly brought under the law and be punished accordingly.
