The crescent moon of Shawwal 1446 Hijri has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday (March 30). The Inside the Haramain Facebook page, which regularly provides updates of Makkah and Madinah, confirmed this information at 6:14pm local time (9:14pm Bangladesh time), citing the Saudi Supreme Court's moon-sighting committee. Leading Middle Eastern news outlets Gulf News and Khaleej Times also reported the same. Earlier, Saudi astronomer Abdullah Al Khudairi said that sunset at the Sudair moon-sighting centre would occur at 6:12pm, with the moon setting eight minutes later. He emphasised that if the sky remained clear, the crescent should be visible. Meanwhile, Khaleej Times and Gulf News have reported that Eid in Bangladesh will fall on Monday. Indian media outlet Hindustan Times echoed this, citing a post from the International Astronomy Center on X (formerly Twitter).
