Avanthika's suicide allegations against proctor and classmate found partially true: Police

The police have found the preliminary truth of the charges brought against the detained assistant proctor Deen Islam and classmate Amman Siddiqui in connection with the suicide of Fairuz Sadaf Avantika, a student of the law department of Jagannath University.Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Police Commissioner B Mahid Uddin confirmed the matter to the media in a press briefing on Sunday afternoon. Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested teacher Deen Islam and classmate Amman Siddiqui in connection with Avantika's suicide on Saturday night.In this regard, Mahid Uddin said, in the preliminary investigation, it was found that the arrested Amman and Deen Islam had fragmented connections. However, the depth of this relationship will come out in the investigation. Mahid Uddin said, last night Avantika's mother filed a case at Kotwali police station in Comilla. Two persons (Amman and Deen Islam) have been charged with abetment of suicide in this case. The arrested accused have been handed over to Kotwali police station.

Avantika (24), a 13th batch student of Jagannath University Law Department, committed suicide at her home in Comilla city last Friday around 10 pm. His father late Jamal Uddin was a professor in Government College. Mother was a part-time teacher at Comilla Police Lines High School.
