He has been selling these adulterated cosmetics for a long time under the cover of fake brands.A visit to his shop shows that counterfeit products of famous brands like Garnier, L'Oreal, Revlon, Nivea, Pantene, Hugo, Ferrari, Dove, etc. are being marketed. It is reported that most of these products are being manufactured in Savar, Keraniganj and surrounding areas.Prominent public health expert Zahir Kamal said that the chemical ingredients in these cosmetics can cause skin cancer, neurological weakness and long-term skin diseases. He warned about the harmful effects of skin-lightening creams in particular.Dr. M. N. Huda, a dermatologist and venereologist, said: “The adulterated cosmetics available in the market can cause skin burns, allergies and even disfigure the face. There is no correct scientific solution to lighten the complexion, rather they are a big source of fraud.”One of the victims, Hasiba Mahjabin, said, "After using the night cream, my face started to feel dry, which has not improved to this day." She added, "The question now is where to get good quality cosmetics."In this regard, an official of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department said, "Regular campaigns are underway against counterfeit and fake products. Immediate action is being taken if complaints are received.""When asked about the complaint over the phone, an anonymous person said, 'People's complaints are not true.'"
