BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Zainul Abdin Farroque has urged Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus to provide a clear roadmap to the general election.“Provide a clear roadmap to the election within today, tomorrow, or the day after. Remove National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman and two other advisers. Ask them to either resign voluntarily or dismiss them yourself,” Farroque said while speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by "Oporajeyo Bangladesh" in front of the National Press Club on Friday morning. He said: “You (Yunus) were appointed chief adviser with the sympathy of millions of people following the July uprising. It has been nine months, yet you have not been able to present a clear election roadmap. Although you have said the election would be held in June, no specific details have been provided.”He added: “Who within your circle does not want an election? Who is influencing you against holding one? You came to power with praise, do not leave with criticism; that would sadden us.
“We are hearing that you may be considering resignation. A sense of instability has arisen. Who is responsible for this unrest? Remove them and provide us with an election roadmap. This unrest is being caused by your own people, not the BNP.”
Farroque further said: “Dr Khalilur Rahman made remarks about BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. He must immediately retract his statement."
