
Services at the National Institute of Opthalmology and Hospital (NIOH) in Dhaka remain suspended for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday, May 31, as doctors, nurses and employees at the facility are observing a work absention to protest assaults on them by patients.Visiting the hospital this morning, this reporter saw patients and their relatives coming for services were going back.One Rekha, 60, said she had had an operation in this hospital. She came here tow days but received no care due to the strike. A group of injured victims of July mass uprising who have been receiving treatment at the hospital attacked physicians, nurses and staffers on Wednesday.Later, the hospital doctors, nurses and staffers began a work stoppage citing security concerns.
