A work stoppage by running staff on Tuesday, January 28, led to the suspension of train services at Kamalapur Railway Station, causing an estimated loss of 1.2 crore taka, according to Station Manager Shahadat Hossain. Shahadat Hossain shared this information during a press briefing at his office on Wednesday. He explained, "Our station typically earns between Tk 1.15 crore to 1.2 crore daily. The suspension of services yesterday resulted in this loss."He also assured that passengers of the two canceled trains would receive refunds. Those who purchased tickets online will be refunded through the same platform, while passengers who bought tickets at the counter will be refunded in person.On the same day, the Parabat Express was delayed by four hours. Other trains experienced delays of one to one and a half hours, as confirmed by the Station Manager.He added, "Since the strike was called off late at night, passengers were not notified via SMS. We are currently exploring ways to assist those who were unable to travel."
