"Jamaat's gathering is not for party, but for national interest" Dr. Masud

Jamaat-e-Islami's central working committee member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said that Jamaat-e-Islami has called for the rally not for party interests, but for national interests. He said that if Jamaat-e-Islami had held a rally for the party's interests, it could have demanded the release of ATM Azharul Islam; it could have demanded the return of the party's registration. They could have held any program including rallies, protests, road blockades even to demand the party symbol. But Jamaat-e-Islami did not do that. Jamaat-e-Islami always considers national interests before party interests.Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Chawkbazar-Bongshal Zone ward responsible meeting on Wednesday night.Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said that none of the demands of the seven-point rally called by Jamaat-e-Islami at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on July 19 are in the interest of the Jamaat-e-Islami party. Rather, every demand is in the national interest. The meeting was chaired by Delwar Hossain, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami's central Majlish-e-Shura and assistant secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, and conducted by SM Ahsan Ullah, assistant director of Chawkbazar-Bongshal Zone.Among others present at the rally were - Zone Team Member Sheikh Abul Kashem, Bangshal South Police Station Amir Md.
