
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam on Saturday categorically said that the police forces are at tough stand to stop extortion and anarchy in the country.The IGP made the comment while talking to media after visiting the Dhaka Zila Police Lines, Range Reserve Force (RRF) and Traffic and Driving School at Mill Barrack in the old part of the city.Replying to a question, he said that action would be taken against the extortionists and anarchists after preparing a list by the Detective Branch (DB) of police in this regard.The detective police have already assigned area wise to make the list of the accused persons in various criminal cases and the people who have bad reputation, Baharul Islam said. He added: “Preventive measures would be taken against the bad people and lawful actions would be taken against the accused people.”
In this context, he sought cooperation from all concerned including the various political parties as they can play a crucial role in improving the overall law and order of the country.
It is very difficult to solve all the problems of the country within few months that were created during the last 15 years, the IGP said.“The police are trying their level best to improve the law and order situation across the country,” he added.
