Lawyer Saiful’s killers must face harsh punishment: Nahid

Nahid Islam, the Information and Broadcasting Adviser to the Interim Government, has stated that the killers of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif will be severely punished. In a post on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday night (November 26), Nahid Islam made this announcement. The adviser wrote, "The communal terrorists who killed Advocate Saiful Islam Alif must face severe punishment."He further stated, "From the very beginning, the interim government has sincerely considered the demands of the minority communities. However, Chinmoy Krishna Das has been attempting to create communal division by giving false and provocative speeches at various meetings.""Despite the sedition case, Chinmoy Krishna continued to hold meetings without any legal action. The main purpose of these activities was to attract the attention of the global media and negatively portray Bangladesh and the July uprising. The Indian media has always been involved in spreading such false propaganda."Nahid Islam also wrote, "Today in Chattogram, the way a lawyer was hacked to death by Chinmoy Krishna's supporters is unprecedented. Chinmoy Krishna was working with the plan to disrupt harmony in the country and had created terrorist supporter groups for communal purposes."

He further added, "The fascist Awami League has always tried to use the minority community for communal politics. Now, the Indian media is also attempting to create a communal situation through false propaganda. The Hindu minority community is part of Bangladesh’s citizenry, and we will ensure their safety."

"However, the Bangladesh government will ensure the highest legal action against the terrorist Hindutva extremists. I urge everyone to remain patient and calm. The terrorists will be arrested soon," concluded Nahid Islam.

Notably, Saiful was hacked to death, allegedly by supporters of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna, in Chattogram on Tuesday.
