Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and Dhaka city north unit’s secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim stated, “Shooting a child in cold blood is inhumane and crimes against humanity.” The perpetrators must be held accountable and justice immediately, demanded city secretary.   He made the remarks while briefing at media workers after visiting child Amina Begum at Dhaka Medical College Hospital today. Amina Begum, a 6-year-old child, was shot by local terrorists at her village Bashikpur in Chandraganj upazila of Lakshmipur district on April 1. Dr Rezaul Karim inquired about her health condition, talked with her family members. He also assured of all possible support to Amina Begum’s family. City secretary urged the authorities to ensure highest level of medical treatment for Amina Begum. The fascists has made the country a reign of terror. The state patronage crimes during fascist regime. The fallen dictator engaged in killings, terrorism, enforced disappearances, abduction and assassination. Though the autocrats have fallen, their cronies are still active. As a result, a child like Amina was shot. The incident of child shootings has surpassed the barbarity of the era of ignorance. We have to practise values to overcome this situation, he added. Rezaul Karim called upon the interim government to take immediate actions to cease crimes and violence.  The law and order situation was very bad during fascist regime. Corruption has been institutionalized. They violated human rights, he alleged. The Jamaat leader stressed on reformation. Except reformation, an acceptable election woll not be held.
