Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman claimed, they have been working for the sake of the country and the nation. Shafiqur Rahman called upon everyone to be united, irrespective of parties and opinions, to build a discrimination-free and humanitarian Bangladesh inspired by the spirit of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. He today made the remarks as the chief guest while speaking a discussion at the Al-Falah Auditorium in the capital’s Moghbazar. Bangladesh Jamat-e-Islami Dhaka City North unit today observed November 7 as National Revolution and Solidarity Day, commemorating the civil-military uprising of 1975. They arranged the discussion marking the day. Mohammad Selim Uddin, Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit, presided over the discussion while secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim conducted it.  7 November holds a significant importance in the history of Bangladesh. The post-liberation regime snatched our right to know the history. Awami fascist government banned all political parties and established one-party rule BaKSAL in 1975. They cancelled the declaration of all mass media except state-sponsored four newspapers. People were unable to exercise freedom expression. Awami BaKSAL supporters buried democracy and democratic values of the country, Jamaat chief alleged. 

Then lawmaker Barrister Moinul Hossain and Colonel M A G Osmani protested the fascist decision but they were physically harassed, he further added.   

Jamaat Ameer remembered all, who have been martyred from 1971 to 5 August 2024, with due respect and conveyed deep sympathy to the injured.

We are the worst sufferers among political parties in Bangladesh. We have been banned two times illegally after independence. Awami League chanted slogan to kill us, Shafiqur Rahman further alleged. 

Jamaat Ameer demanded to the government to form a new inquiry committee to investigate the BDR massacre again for holding the actual perpetrators accountable and justice. 

The civil-military upsurge thwarted all forms of conspiracies and plots against sovereignty and independence of the country on 7 November 1975, Mohammad Selim Uddin said as the chair. 

Jamaat’s central Mojlish-e-Shura member & Dhaka City North unit’s assistant secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr Fakharuddin Manik,, city working committee member Hemayet Hossain, Yeasin Arafat, Maulana Habibur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Sarker among others were present on the discussion.
