
Amid escalating India-Pakistan conflict, Bangladesh’s Police Headquarters (PHQ) has directed all police units to safeguard the Hindu community from attacks and ensure stability nationwide, according to a letter issued Wednesday from the Operations Branch.Signed by Additional DIG (Operations) Shahzada Md Asaduzzaman on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, the directive instructs units, districts, and stations to heighten vigilance to prevent miscreants from targeting Hindus’ lives or properties.It emphasises robust security measures to curb provocative acts, vandalism, or instability, particularly in border areas.The PHQ also ordered strict monitoring of mobile, internet, and social media platforms to prevent individuals or groups from spreading rumours or propaganda that could incite unrest.The measures aim to maintain law and order and protect communal harmony as regional tensions persist.
