
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the Forest and Environment Adviser to the interim government, announced that Saudi Arabia’s Aramco, a leading global energy company, has agreed to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh at a price below the current market rate. She made this statement during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital on Tuesday, March 4.Rizwana explained that Bangladesh currently imports LNG from two countries. Recently, the Power Adviser visited Saudi Arabia and held discussions with Aramco, one of the kingdom’s largest LNG suppliers. “They have agreed to provide LNG at a reduced price compared to the market rate,” she said.Also present at the briefing were Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir, Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammed, and other officials.
