A new political force named Jatiya Nagorik Party or National Citizen Party (NCP), initiated by the organisers of July mass uprising, has officially been launched.Mim Aktar, sister of July uprising martyr Md Ismail Hasan Rabby, announced the name of the new party at a rally in Dhaka's Manik Mia Avenue around 6:20pm on Friday, February 28.She also announced the names of Nahid Islam and Akhtar Hossain as convener, and member secretary of the party respectively.Thousands of people from the city and different districts of the country joined the launching event of the new political party at Manik Miah Avenue which started around 4:20pm with recitations from the Holy Quran, Gita, Tripitaka, and Bible.The National Anthem was sung, and a one-minute silence was observed in memory of those martyred during the July mass uprising.
