Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “All types of crimes including extortion should be thwarted with iron hand without any fear. Our politics has lost its pro-people appeal due to a group of self-centered and valueless politicians.” Mohammad Selim Uddin today made the remarks as the chief guest while distributing sewing machines and winter clothes among marginalized people in the capital’s Hatirjeel. Jamaat Hatirjheet thana west arranged the event. Yousuf Ali Mollah, member of Mojlish-e-Shura of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit and Ameer of Hatirjheel thana, presided over the event. Thana secretary Rashedul Islam conducted it. Jamaat central Mojlish-e-Shura member and Hatirjheel zone coordinator Hemayet Hossain and Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s Media and publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker were the special guests. Thana nayeb-e-Ameer Nurul Islam Akand, Jamaat leader Maulana Golum Maula, Shamim Hossain, Abdul Kuddus among others were present on the event. 

The conventional politics has made the country a reign of looting. These bad politicians should be prevented for the sake of the country and the nation. Jamaat is working relentlessly as a pro-people political party. We have established a lot of schools, colleges, madrashas, universities, hospitals, and many other institutions in the country. No one can allege us money laundering and corruption, Selim Uddin added.  

This earth is not permanent to us but Hereafter. City Ameer urged the government to take immediate action against the extortionists.  

He further called upon the authorities to control price hike of daily essentials in upcoming Ramadan.
