Jamaat held view-exchange meeting with Christian community in Mirpur

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman called upon everyone irrespective of religions, parties and opinions to remain united to protect inter-religious harmony. Jamaat Ameer cautioned the countrymen that miscreants will not remain idle but will try their best to resist them so that they can run their reign of looting smoothly again. They are not any part of religion but evil. He mentioned, Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony but we should be more vigil as ousted force tries to make chaos in the country now. Shafiqur Rahman made the remarks at 8:00pm yesterday as the chief guest while sharing his views with Christians community leaders at Senpara Christian Baptist Church in the capital’s Mirpur. Jamaat Dhaka City North Unit arranged the view-exchange meeting. Reverend Martin Adhikari, Chief Pastor of Mirpur Baptist Church, presided over the view-exchange meeting. Jamaat central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, central working committee member and secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Mirpur Baptist Church General Secretary Babul Kumar Saha, Mirpur Baptist Church Pastor Reverend Prince Kiran Bain, Associate Editor Manoj Barai, Treasurer Asit Mitra, Baptist Church Women Committee Chairperson Prabhati Falia, Editor Anima Barai were present as special guests. 

Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s working committee member Muhammad Shahidullah, Sha Alam Tuhin, advocate Rezaul Karim, Abdul Matin Khan, Maulana, Atique Hasan Rayhan among others were present. 

Deputy treasurer of the church David Halder, Thomas Singh, co-pastor of Dhaka ABCS Jan Sarkar Church, director James Pradeep Biswas, Sameer Barai, David Biswas, Dilip Singh, Adri Barai Ms. Adhikari, Sutap Singh Tama Jewel Bala Joy and others spoke in the view-exchange meeting. 

Our first father is Hazrat Adam (AS) and our first mother is Hazrat Hawa (AS). We pay tributes to all Prophets (PBUH) and it is a part of our faith. All of them are Messengers (SA), Shafiqur Rahman added. 

We do not divide the nation based on religion. Jamaat has been working to make the country a welfare state with everyone irrespective of religion, parties, thoughts, caste, opinions and community, Jamaat top leader claimed. 

He sought the full cooperation of people of all religions including the Christian community in this struggle of Jamaat. 

Bangladesh is a small but populous country. We, people of Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Bhudu, live here with harmony. We do not believe majority and minority concept; we all are Bangladeshis here. Jamaat activists are not engaged in corruption, abduction, murder, looting and other crimes, Jamaat Ameer further claimed. 

Allah is the Almighty & All-powerful. If it rains from the sky, everyone is benefited. So, we do not believe othering concept, he added.

Shafiqur Rahman urged all to work together to protect the rights of mass people.
