ACC case against Mayor Nazrul Islam of Goland Municipality for concealment of wealth information Rajbari representative ॥ A case has been filed against Nazrul Islam, the mayor of Rajbari's Goland municipality, on the charge of concealment of wealth information. Sardar Abul Basar, assistant director of Faridpur (Rajbari) integrated district office of the Corruption Eradication Commission (ACC) filed the case as the plaintiff on Sunday.According to the ACC complaint, Mayor Nazrul Islam of Rajbari's Goland municipality has given false information in his filed asset statement with the intention of concealing and understating the immovable assets of Tk 32 lakh 55 thousand 566. He committed a punishable offense by providing false information in the statement of assets, including acquiring assets outside of known income of Tk 59 lakh 74 thousand 304 from illegal sources and CC loan of Tk 11 lakh 81 thousand 214 despite having been paid.For this reason, a case has been filed against him under Section 26 (2) and 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004 at the Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur Integrated District Office (Rajbari) on Sunday (June 9) (Case No-01). The case was filed by Sardar Abul Basar, Assistant Director of Integrated District Office of Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur.It is to be noted that after the investigation of E/R No. 60/2019 of the Integrated District Office of Faridpur on 18 November 2019, the complaint of acquisition of wealth outside the known income of Tk 49 lakh 63 thousand 900 against Goland Municipality Mayor Nazrul Islam was initially proved. Due to this, an inquiry report was submitted against him recommending the issuance of a notice of submission of asset statement.In view of that, when the notice of submission of asset declaration was issued against Nazrul Islam, he submitted the asset declaration at the District Office of Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur on 19 January 2021. In this, he also provided false information in the assets statement regarding the repayment of CC loan of 11 lakh 81 thousand 214 taka, including providing false information to conceal and understate the information of immovable assets of taka 32 lakh 55 thousand 566 taka.On Monday afternoon, Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur Integrated District Office Assistant Director Sardar Abul Basar confirmed the filing of the case.
