International Students vs Bondi Westfield Stabbing!

Pakistani Students proved to be the heroes of the tragic stabbing at the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre on 13 Apr 2024. Amid chaos, the security officers Muhammad Taha and Faraz Tahir bravely confronted the attacker Joel Cauchi who killed six people and injured twelve at the Westfield. Despite suffering from injuries both showed incredible bravery but Faraz lost his life. Both heroes showed remarkable courage and saved many Australian lives. Also, security officers Fahad and Qasim Shah, exhibited great courage and provided immediate first aid and rescued many victims. Actions of Faraz, Taha, Fahad, Qasim and others remind us that there are millions of immigrants all over Australia who do hard and risky jobs for the comfort and convenience of the Australians but don't get due recognition in the community. So it obliges the locals to duly respect the foreign workers in times of their struggle in Australia.

Pakistan Mission International reiterates it's full support for Taha, Fahad and Qasim and all other immigrants who come to Australia for a bright future and offer low-cost services to add value to the economy.

Australia is a great country but the government should revise it's migration & employment policies to fairly accommodate the students & skilled migrants whose majority has to do odd and risky jobs. Especially their major emplying industries, like security, taxi/Uber & hospitality, need to be overhauled for their safety & due financial reward.

Thanks to the PM Athony Albanese who recognized Taha and awarded him the permanent residence visa. On similar grounds, Minister for Immigration Andrew Giles is requested to grant PR to Fahad & Qasim as well for their heroic actions at the Westfield.
