BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Friday (June 20) alleged that Indian policymakers are conspiring in various ways to rehabilitate the "fascist and fugitive" Awami League. He claimed they could not accept the fall of Sheikh Hasina.He made the remarks while talking to media in Pabna’s Chatmohar while visiting ailing BNP leader Abu Taher alias “Taher Thakur” on the directive of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.Rizvi said conspiracies from neighboring countries started right after the London meeting between Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus and Tarique Rahman.While handing over financial assistance on behalf of Tarique Rahman, Rizvi praised Taher’s decades-long dedication to BNP, even while struggling to support his family by running a metal workshop. “We have asked the district BNP to stay by his side. Everyone will stand beside Taher,” Rizvi assured.Taher Thakur is a veteran BNP leader who once served as the president of Chatmohar upazila unit of the Sramik Dal. After media reports highlighted his illness and hardship, Tarique Rahman instructed party members to offer support and follow up on his condition.
