The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the indefinite closure of all public and private universities due to concerns over student safety amid the quota reform movement.A press release signed by UGC Secretary Dr. Ferdous Zaman stated that academic activities at all public and private universities, as well as medical, textile, and engineering colleges affiliated with universities and other colleges, will be suspended until further notice.The release noted that this decision aligns with the Education Ministry's directive.Additionally, students have been instructed to vacate their residence halls. The UGC's decision came shortly after clashes between quota protesters, police, and Chhatra League members resulted in at least six deaths and numerous injuries across the country.
