Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Professor of Finance Department of Jagannath University (JOB) has taken a unique initiative of planting trees across the country through his students during the holy Eid-ul-Azhar holidays.On the second day of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, a zoom meeting was organized with all the students of the department under the leadership of Alamgir Hossain, a teacher of the finance department. Emitting he informs the students about his initiative and gives necessary guidance. He said, students, you are now staying at the village house during the Eid holidays. Your various village homes are in different parts of the country. You are aware of the current climate change and natural disasters. I would advise you to plant at least one tree in your yard, streets and fields during this Eid holiday. As a result we will be able to set a special example of tree plantation across the country. Now is the perfect time to plant trees as it is monsoon season.He warned about the future natural disasters due to the destruction of trees and forests, he said, the entire world including our country is affected by climate change. The main reason for this is the destruction of trees and forests around us. If we cannot stop this change in climate, then very soon the whole world including our country will be under serious threat. Already, we are facing various natural calamities including extreme heat, cold currents, cyclones, floods, rains that come at different times of the year. So there is no alternative to plant more trees to protect the country and the nation from this change in climate.
He also told the students, students, you will plant different kinds of fruits and medicinal plants. Plant trees and post them on social media. So that others will be encouraged to see your post.
Besides, he also promised to pay the money for the purchase of trees to the students if no one has the financial means to buy them.
