Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi this Saturday afternoon to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. He went to New Delhi to attend his swearing-in ceremony at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A special Biman Bangladesh flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:15 am today. And he reached Delhi around 12:30.In New Delhi, Sheikh Hasina will hold a private meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after attending the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:20 pm on Sunday. He will later attend a state dinner hosted by the President of India. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh will attend various functions in New Delhi on Sunday.Finally, he will arrive at Palam Air Force Station at 5 pm (New Delhi time) on Monday to leave New Delhi and is scheduled to reach Dhaka at 8 pm (Bangladesh time) the same day. Earlier on Wednesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the Bangladeshi Prime Minister to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his government during a telephone conversation. Sheikh Hasina accepted the invitation.Modi is expected to take oath on the evening of June 9. In the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA won 293 seats while the opposition India Alliance won 234 seats.
World leaders including Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will attend the event. More than 8,000 dignitaries are expected to attend. The Bangladesh prime minister was among the first foreign leaders to congratulate Modi, reflecting the warm personal relationship between the two leaders.Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Narendra Modi on the landslide victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections.

In her congratulatory message, Sheikh Hasina said, "As the leader of the world's largest democracy, you carry the hopes and aspirations of the people of India."Narendra Modi received a congratulatory telephone call from Sheikh Hasina after the BJP-led NDA's victory, the Press Information Bureau of India reported.

Modi thanked Sheikh Hasina for her warm wishes after her election victory. Modi said, "India and Bangladesh have historic ties, which have been strengthened unprecedentedly in the last decade."In a message shared through it, Modi said he looks forward to working together to further strengthen the people-oriented partnership between Bangladesh and India. The two leaders pledged to continue working together to deepen the historic and close ties under the renewed mandate to achieve a developed India 2047 and Smart Bangladesh 2041.
