A total of 37 students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have been temporarily expelled following a clash between university students and BNP activists.The decision was made at an emergency meeting of the university syndicate held on Monday evening (April 14). The meeting also decided that all residential halls will reopen on May 2, and academic activities will resume from May 4.The university’s Public Relations Office officially announced the decision in a press release issued Monday night.According to the release, the 101st (emergency) syndicate meeting was held in the university’s conference room. During the meeting, a sealed report submitted by the investigation committee—formed during the 98th (emergency) syndicate meeting on February 19—was presented. The investigation was launched following the incidents that occurred on February 18 and 19.

The syndicate accepted the findings of the investigation and decided to temporarily expel the 37 students found to be involved in the incident. The matter has also been referred to the university’s Student Disciplinary Committee for further action based on the committee’s recommendations.
