While trying to save his son in Chittagong, a dentist named Korban Ali died after being attacked by the followers of Chittagong University branch Chhatra League vice-president Golam Rasul Nishan and Chhatra League workers. He died in the early hours of Wednesday (April 10) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. Jasim Uddin, the relative of the deceased, confirmed the matter. He said that after being on life support for five consecutive days, Korban Ali was declared dead by the doctor on duty on Wednesday morning.Recently, Korban Ali's son Ali Reza Rana called the National Emergency Service number 999 to save a pedestrian from gang members. Doctor Korban Ali was attacked by gang members to save his son when he went to beat up Rana last Friday (April 5) night.Later he was admitted to a private hospital in the city with serious injuries. Since the situation was critical, he was on life support from the beginning. Immediately after the attack, the police said that the attackers were followers of Chittagong University branch Chhatra League vice-president Golam Rasul Nishan and they were all Chhatra League workers.Jasim Uddin, a relative of doctor Korban Ali, said that Ali Reza Rana was walking on the road a few days ago. Suddenly he saw a group of teenagers beating up a pedestrian. Unable to bear the beating, the man is shouting 'Bachao Bachao'. Rana called 999 to save the man. Later the police went to the spot and arrested some of them.He also said that due to this incident, the juvenile gang members threatened to take revenge in front of the runner's house on April 5. On the same day, when Rana went to buy Iftari at a shop next to the house, some teenage gang members attacked him. Meanwhile, his father Korban Ali went forward to save his son.Then he was also attacked. He suffered a severe head injury. Akbar Shah Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman said, Dr. A case has been registered against 8-10 people in connection with the attack on Korban Ali. But no one has been arrested yet.
