The Chief Adviser to the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the child, who was raped and severely tortured in Magura.Yunus also ordered bringing the accused to book through speedy trial, said Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir.The child died while receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka at 1:00 pm, as confirmed by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) in a press release. The child was raped and severely tortured while visiting her sister's home in Magura on Thursday (March 6). The following day, she was admitted to Magura 250-Bed Hospital. Due to her deteriorating condition, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment that same afternoon. From there, she was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital that night. Subsequently, she was placed on life support Friday night. The critically ill child was transferred from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to the CMH on Saturday evening. The next day, Sunday, the child was admitted to the Pediatric ICU at CMH.
