Teachings of Ramadan should be utilized in building a just and fair society: Dr Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman stated, “The month of Ramadan is the supreme month in Arabic calendar. Ramadan is the best month because Allah (SW) has revealed the holy Quran, which is the great charter of salvation for world humanity, in this month.” Utilizing the blessings of this month, everyone should attain taqwa (fear to Allah). Dr Shafiqur Rahman called on everyone to utilize the actual lessons of the holy month of Ramadan in practical life.   Jamaat Ameer today made these remarks as the chief guest while addressing at a Iftar mahfil at Monipur School Auditorium Ibrahimpur branch in the capital. Jamaat Kafrul thana south unit arranged the Iftar mahfil. Thana Ameer professor Anuwarul Karim presided over the event while secretary Abu Nahid conducted it.Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had waited for the month of Ramadan. He had prayed to Almighty Allah from the begging of the month of Rajb to increase His Hyatt till Ramadan, Shafiqur Rahman added. 

“When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed, and the devils are chained,” Jamaat top leader further added. 

He recited a verse from the holy Quran Where Allah (SW) said, “Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the decisive authority. So whoever is present this month, let them fast.” Later, Jamaat Ameer quoted a Hadith-e-Qudsi where Allah said, “Fasting is for Me and I will reward it Myself.” 

He urged everyone to engage in deep worship in this holy month for self-purification and attaining taqwa. 

Ramadan is the month of blessings, mercy and salvation from Hellfire. It is also the month of gaining patience and tolerance, Dr Rezaul Karim added as the special guest. 

He called upon all to be united under the banner of Jamaat for building a welfare state by using the lessons of Ramadan. 

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and Dhaka city north unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim were the special guests. Central Mojlish-e-Shura member Lashker Muhammad Taslim, city working committee member Shahidullah, Sha Alam Tuhin, Jasim Uddin, Nazmul Hasan Khan among others were present.
