
BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has suspended the ongoing protest demanding two advisers' resignation and issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the government to implement the demand.He made the announcement at the protest site at Kakrail intersection on Thursday afternoon, May 22.“Today the rule of law has triumphed through court’s verdict. So, the movement was halted for now,” he said. Vowing to be firm on the demand of the resignation two advisers – LGRD Adviser Asif Mahmud and Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam, Ishraque said, “We will monitor the government in the next 24 to 48 hours. If the two advisers do not step down, we will again take to the streets.”
